Happy New Year to everyone at Middlethorpe Primary Academy. I can’t believe that we are already two weeks into the new term and what a start we have had. On 21st December, our staff were in school working on our project-based learning. Children across the school are now working on a learning project in their newly invigorated and immersive learning environments.

In Neptune and Earth classes, children are being asked the question ‘Is it worth the risk?’ as they embark on learning based on the book Shackleton and  his quest to cross Antarctica.

In Mercury and Saturn classes, children are being asked the question ‘How can we save the world?’ . Their learning will lead them to create promotional films that encourage people to save endangered animals.

In Venus and Jupiter classes, they are being asked the question ‘Who is king of the Jungle?’ The final exhibition will be the performance of a jungle dance, wearing the costumes that they have created.

Mars class are wondering about ‘Happily Ever After…’. Their learning is based on famous fairy tales, with the final exhibition being the opening and unveiling of the children’s fairy tale village in which they will re-enact fairy tale stories.
