It is almost that time of year again but at Middlethorpe, we always have reason to celebrate. Our new Monday celebration assembly has become our favourite part of the week and we are really enjoying celebrating the wonderful mindset that our children are showing.

Our Mindset work is already having an incredibly positive impact on learning outcomes. A familiar phrase around the building is, ‘I can’t do it… yet’ and because our children understand that they will make mistakes, they are checking their learning more thoroughly. This is enabling pupils to be incredibly successful.

The next step in this work is to develop autonomy in children’s willingness to learn and their confidence when working independently. We are all working really hard to discover how we can best achieve this in school and some celebration assembly nominations may be for independence and resilience .

If your child is nominated for Celebration Assembly, you should receive a text no later than midday on a Friday as the nominations are made during Friday morning each week. If for some reason, you are unable to attend the assembly, please get in touch with school and we can look to delay your child’s celebration until the following week. You can contact the school via the office or email me directly.
